  Congratulations to Franki Bagdade for continuing wonderful reviews of her book, I Love My Children, But I Don't Always Like Them .  As a parent of two kids and also a psychologist, I have read MANY books on parenting over the years and this one is by far the absolute BEST one I have encountered. It is the perfect length - parents do not have time to read, and this one is manageable, easy to wade through and a pleasure to read. I Love My Kids But I Don't Always Like Them is a brilliant guide to parenting ALL types of children, including our more difficult ones.  Sharp, insightful and solidly based in psychological science, this book is chock full of easy-to-use practical advice, with illustrative, highly relatable and colorful examples. The author of I Love My Kids, But I Don't Always Like Them , Franki Bagdade graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Elementary Education. She received her MA in Special Education from Wayne State University. She is currently enjoying her largest “pandemic purchase” and is half-way through earning her master’s in clinical social work at University of Kentucky. She has spent more than 20 years specializing in the world of children with extra needs, including non-traditional learning environments, camp settings, and everything in between. Her traditional mainstream educational experience includes all types of general classroom teaching, running a special needs resource room, consulting for pre-school through high school resource programs, and conducting training sessions for professional development. In one of her latest posts, Franki Bagdade writes about writing homework: Holy Cr-- my kid has writing homework! Can someone please cue the Jaws theme song? When schools went virtual for the first time (I can't believe that I have to distinguish that), any time my son had to write anything it came with a side of tears. This is Mr. 9, Mr. Happy Go Lucky, Mr. Chill 3rd Child! When he has a meltdown, I find my mind goes completely blank. Even though I teach, speak and write about meltdowns for a living, I have no clue what to do! This is because this kid is so zen that he barely has them.
