  Franki Bagdade, author of I Love My Kids, But I Do Not Always Like Them , was recently interviewed on WXYZ-TV on a topic dear to the heart of parents, especially those with challenging children,  The technology of this interview is highly professional: great acoustics, great video.     1.       It is Tuesday. Time to tall turkey. Monday's madness is over, and Wednesday will take us over the hump, so Tuesday it is--for some serious discussion with authors. Tuesday talks mean to address authors in waiting and self-published authors who would like to go a more traditional route or who would at least like to take their steps with a publisher by their side. Today's topic shares information about tracking book sales. In complete frankness, it is a repeat of an explanation I provided to MSI Press LLC authors in one of our monthly newsletters.  An author recently asked (and others have previously asked) how to tell if a particular action results in a specific number of sales. Alas, we have no way to tell unless we are in direct contact with a bookstore making a large order. Book reports from Ingram (distributor) come as total sales. I wish there were a way to tell sources. It would make marketing and promotion a science instead of an art.  Our distributor will

  Colorectal cancer has a life expectancy of 4-6 months if discovered in stage 4. If discovered in stage 1-2, life expectancy is 5 years. (Note: Carl's Cancer Compendium provides longevity statistics for a wide range of cancers.) So many people die from colon cancer and colorectal cancer after brief periods of chemotherapy, if that, a imperative exists for watching for early signs of cancer is not heeded (or in some cases, they are simply missed or misinterpreted). I speak from personal experience because although Carl died from cancer of unknown primary ( CUP ), his oncologist was convinced that the original cancer was gastro-intestinal in nature although the colon was clear of the cancer by the time the cancer had reached stage 4 (which can happen in cases of CUP). So, assuming the oncologist was right about the original cancer, did Carl actually survive the 5 years without knowing it?   Sula for 15 years a beloved staff member, although a cat, at Old Mission San Juan Bautista, served parishioners faithfully until August 24, when she died with her "work boots on" after fighting cancer for ten years and succumbing only to the 6th bout. Her story has been told in many posts of this blog, all over the Internet, and in a memorial story on KSBW , a Central Coast California television station, that was carried by other stations, as well.  See more posts about Sula  HERE . Now, let us introduce Bubblegum, a young white rooster. Bubblegum showed up at the first Mass after Sula passed away, walking down the aisle like Sula did, and standing in front of the altar like Sula did. Bubblegum has since attended a funeral Mass and the full two-hour meeting of the Sula Committee making plans for Sula's funeral and memorial. Interestingly, Bubblegum (pictured here) is white with grey tail feathers like Sula was white with a gray tail.                                    S
