The Story behind the Book: The Widower's Guide to a New Life (Romer)
Today's story behind the book is about the award-winning book, The Widower's Guide to a New Life. by Joanna Romer.
From the publisher
This book was a commissioned book. Joanna had already written Widow, which turned out to be one of our better sellers. Clearly, there was a need for some guidance at the time of bereavement. Visting the hospice where my sister-in-law lay dying, it became clear that the majority of books -- the vast majority -- on this topic were directed toward widows. What about the widowers, like my brother, I wondered? I could find literally nothing for this situation, and so I asked Joanna to write such a book. She did, It was well received, and the rest is history.
This book was a finalist for the Book of the Year Award.
