Description

Lamentations of the Heart soulfully combines contemporary free verse poetry and nonfictional prose to tell the story of one mother’s grief following the death of her only child. The author interweaves scriptural passages with the inevitable struggles to accept and make sense of her new reality. All of it reveals the unending love for family that remains.

Written to reach out to others who have experienced similar pain, it moves upon the uneven, wavering pattern of great emotion, along a tumultuous path blessed with signs and wonders —

I have to say I have never read a book like this! Lamentations of the Heart Mingled with Peace and Joy touched every part of my heart and soul. The author Marti Wells-Smith takes you through her journey of mourning the loss of her only child. The author is a Christian and strong in her faith. Every page is backed with a scripture that relates to the paragraphs prior. The authors character of compassion, honesty and love for God are felt in her book. I could feel her reasoning throughout the pages. It is a dedication to her son who she loves so much. She will see him again. I enjoyed her sharing who she is and family stories. I had tears and I had smiles. The title speaks for itself. This is a must read for anyone!

It is Tuesday. Monday's madness is over, and Wednesday will take us over the hump, so Tuesday it is--for some serious discussion with authors.
