Book Jewel of the Month: The Rose and the Sword (Bach and Hucknall)

What is a book jewel? A sometimes-overlooked book with remarkable insight and potential significance. Each month, we share near-daily, or as often as possible, reviews of the monthly book jewel - short, succinct reviews that can be read in 1-2 minutes with links to the reviewer by reviewers whose words are worthy of being heard and whose opinions are worthy of being considered. Sometimes a couple of minutes contains more impressive thought than ten times that many. We will let you decide that.

This month's book jewel is The Rose and the Sword by Dr. Judith Bach and Nanette Hucknall.

Description

A unique combination of fiction and self-development, this book invites the reader to enter a realm of modern and fantasy tales that stimulate both mind and feelings. Each tale addresses different aspects of the feminine and masculine energies that exist beyond gender and sexual identity in each one of us. At the end of each story is a psychological commentary that provides a deeper understanding of the chapter's subject and an exercise to begin the process of integrating the energies highlighted in the chapter.

Keywords: masculine and feminine energies, balancing masculine and feminine energy, beyond gender identity, inner energy integration, archetypal psychology, yin and yang balance, fiction and self-development, personal growth through stories, psychological fiction, transformational storytelling, fictional self-help, mindful reading

Review on Goodreads by Panela Keary

It is wonderful to finally discover an extraordinary piece of literature that portrays the principles of both Male and Female Energies in such an enlightening and entertaining way!

At the young age of 8 years old, I had a Life Changing experience that will forever remain etched on my heart, and an Inner Awakening that set the pathway for my future spiritual journey. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I only witnessed the negative energies of the male and female; but truly believed with all of my heart that there were positive aspects of both these principles just waiting for my discovery.

Through all my years of spiritual searching, I have now found what I have been looking for in this amazing book, ‘THE ROSE & THE SWORD”. The exercises although optional, are well worth taking the time to complete as they will bring you “inside” the experience; and open up the Portal to your own relationship with these powerful principles.

I believe we all possess both the Male and Female Principles and learning to work with all aspects of these inner dynamics on a daily basis, will not only expand your mind, but open your heart and soul to the life you have always dreamed possible.

A heartfelt thanks to the authors, Judy Bach and Nanette Hucknall for creating this amazing piece of fiction and offering me a key to integrate these powerful Principles into my own life!
