Cancer Diary: CEREAL??
There's been some concern about certain cereals containing trace amounts of glyphosate , an herbicide used in weed killers like Roundup. Some studies and organizations, such as the Environmental Working Group (EWG), have found levels of glyphosate in cereals like Cheerios that exceed their recommended safe limits. Glyphosate has been classified as "probably carcinogenic to humans" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, but other regulatory bodies, like the EPA and FDA, have determined that the levels found in food are unlikely to pose a significant cancer risk. Still, if you are concerned, be aware that Cheerios, Rice Krispies, and other popular cereals have glyphosates.
