Cancer Diary: Life, Liberty, and Covid

Image
Excerpt from the pre-publication manuscript: Chapter 13 HOW DO WE USE OUR FREEDOM? “The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear.” --Aung San Suu Kyi   ·        When the lockdowns began in March 2020 to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, “to flatten the curve,” we were shocked at this drastic measure. A Publisher's Conversation with Authors: How Successful Self-Publishing Authors and Authors of Small Presses Market Their Books

Image
It is Tuesday. Monday's madness is over, and Wednesday will take us over the hump, so Tuesday it is--for some serious discussion with authors. Tuesday talks mean to address authors in waiting and self-published authors who would like to go a more traditional route or who would at least like to take their steps with a publisher by their side.  Today's topic is a never-ending one: how to market books, especially if you are a small press or a self-publishing author. He has a niche (travel humor), and nearly every day, his book turns up in the top 100 list of books of travel humor. What is he doing right? He built a following with his "dumb things RVers do" annual competition

Image
Diary of an RVer is one of 15 books prepared as part of a 2020 project to help readers cope with the pandemic, quarantine, shut down, and the fears and daily life Fifteen MSI Press authors accepted the call to prepare pandemic-related books in their specialist. For Larry, an ardent RVer and author about RV life, with a sense of humor, the challenge took the form of relating two weeks of daily life trapped inside an RV -- with a twist of humor. His quarantini has become a favorite. For more posts about Larry and his books, click HERE . For more book back stories, click HERE .
