Multi-published author and freelance editor, Cynthia MacGregor, has also formerly hosted two TV shows, “Solo Parenting” and “Younger Every Day,” both of which were seen in the South Florida area, where Cyn (as most people call her) has lived since 1984. In addition to the more than 100 books she has published, Cyn also writes plays, both for adults and for kids, and has had all but one of them produced in her community. In addition, one show, for kids, was produced in New York. Cyn works seven days a week at her craft of writing and editing and loves every minute of it. Calling herself “arguably the happiest woman there is,” she says, “There’s no one in the world I’d want to trade lives with.” Cyn’s book,  Everybody’s Little Book of Everyday Prayers , illustrated by Russian artist Zhenya Yanovich, was released in September 2015.

Excerpt from Rainstorm of Tomorrow (Dong): All Questions Are Involved with Logos

Core Question: What language should we use to describe the material nature of the world?  If we advocate that this world is fundamentally material—which is to say that all the objects described in our everyday language are essentially matter—we soon become embattled by difficulties of semantics. Some words refer to very “concrete” substances and engender no dispute, such as “apple.” There are few who would confuse apples with pears. However, it is undeniable that many highly “abstract” and “conceptual” words are also used in our daily linguistic practices, such as “thought” and “virtue,” along with those that are harder to define, such as the aforementioned “mind” or “mental activity.” Moreover, there are other words that seem familiar and specific; yet, their material realities have always been questioned. Examples of this category would include “light,” “time,” “space,” etc.  In trying to prove that every word indicates a being of matter, we may argue that the referents of those hi

Excerpt from Surviving Cancer, Healing People: One Cat's Story (Sula): I Am Not Alone

Photo by Kaleena Scargill Some of the people who form a big part of my mission [taking emotional/spiritual care of the parishioners at Old Mission San Juan Bautista] struggle with cancer. I do understand them—their fears, their pain, their sometimes-sadness. I feel those things, too, at least as much as a cat can feel. I know that God made humans to have even deeper feelings and a greater range of feelings, and I am glad that some of those feelings include loving animals because it is through that love that I can connect with them and bring them the message of God’s love. I have to tell you about one of my special friends, Loryn. She understands me because she had cancer, and I understand her because I had cancer—the same way Cody and I understand, support, and love each other. Maybe it is better if I am not the one to tell her story, though. Maybe she should tell her own story. I think you will find it more interesting that way. So, here is what she wrote for my book about her exper
