US Review of Books Praises Learning to Feel (Girrell)

"One of the most striking qualities of the read is the personality and honesty embedded in the narrative, gently coaxing readers to look at themselves from a more critical viewpoint. It also peels back many layers of the author’s own heart and mind to show us the true power of being vulnerable and honest with ourselves."

  1. "Learning to Feel: One Man's Path of Reconnecting to the Heart of Emotions" is a gripping narrative that explores the journey of a man who sets out on a mission to rediscover the richness and depth of his emotional environment. His life-changing experience of rediscovering his emotions after years of emotional suppression or detachment is chronicled in this biography.

The protagonist of the novel is introduced at the outset, who at first struggles with being unable to communicate or comprehend his own emotions and feeling emotionally cut off from others. Due to a variety of life events, including previous traumas or societal expectations, this detachment has been a coping technique that has evolved over time.

As the story progresses, the man becomes aware of the cost his emotional numbness has had.
