Caturday: Why do cats purr?

The late Intrepid loved to sleep with his late dad, Carl, leading to much purring.

Today's Caturday post provides some interpretation of purring, one of a cat's way to expression his or her emotions. Some reasons that cats purr:

  • They are happy.
  • They are in pain and trying to self-soothe.
  • They, as kittens, are telling "mom" they are okay.
  • They are hungry and running their "motor" to get some food.

Each of these reasons is accompanied with other behaviors that aid in leading to the correct interpretation. Read more details HERE.
