  In everyday language, feeling often means emotion. In Socionics, it means something more precise: the way a person evaluates relationships, harmony, and ethical balance between people. 1. Feeling is not emotion—it’s value judgment. Socionics divides cognition into eight information elements. “Feeling” corresponds to Ethics , which comes in two forms: Ethics of Relations (Fi) — how one perceives closeness, sincerity, and moral alignment between people. Ethics of Emotions (Fe) — how one perceives and manages emotional atmosphere, expression, and shared mood. Both are “Feeling,” but neither is simply “being emotional.” They are ways of processing information about human connection . 2. Feeling types read the invisible field between people.
