Even though informational books can be a little tougher for kids to comprehend, they are often highly interesting. Whether your child already loves reading about real/true things or not, you can encourage him to read more by stashing those kinds of books in some planned-out places. Many kids watch movies or play videogames in cars, in restaurants, in waiting rooms. Instead, try stashing some books that will capture your child’s interests in the car. Encourage him to “unplug” himself and read instead. Think about his interests (bugs? cars? space? volcanoes? ponies?) and begin collecting books.
