If you pray Morning Prayer regularly, you’ve probably had this moment: you open your breviary or app, begin the Invitatory , and think, Didn’t I just pray this yesterday? And the day before? And the day before that? You’re not imagining it. But you’re also not seeing the whole picture. The Invitatory is one of the most stable elements in the Liturgy of the Hours—but it is not static.
