Review of GodSway (Keithley) by Bennett Easterling

Review of GodSway from J Bennett Easterling (author of award-winning books, Of God, Rattlesnakes, and Okra, God Speaks into Darkness, and Jesus Is still Passy By):

GODSWAY, My Anecdotes with God, by Diana Skidmore Keathley

This is a vivid and inspiring journey into the spiritual life of a charming lady.

Diane’s memoir is filled with heart-warming stories of kindness, sacrifices, and an ever-growing faith in the goodness of God. It is a story you will long remember, as she takes baby steps in faith because he keeps dong strange and wonderful things in her life, proving beyond all doubt that he loves us personally and passionately.

You will thrill as she tells of so many “co-incidences” happening to her—prayers answered even when she dared to pray in great detail for specific provisions. She began to realize that God is involved in every detail of our lives, willing and able to bless and guide us, providing for our every need. What surprised her even more were the many ways God showed her his love by answering “prayers” for blessings she needed but had not known to request.

Especially encouraging to me were her honest descriptions of how God cultivated her fragile faith into a rock-solid fire-tested dependence and trust in his forever faithfulness.

While Diana did not “push all the buttons” some believers feel are essential, her faith is deeply grounded and obviously informs and directs her life. She describes in a most touching scene, the first time God spoke to her in simple words even a young child could understand: “This is my hand and God’s is in it. Together, we will go throughout the world making people happy”.

She does not fall into the trap of prettying her life up for readers but instead readily confesses her adolescent battles with panic attacks and a terrifying fear of dying. Yet, when she finally surrenders her fears to the Lord, deciding to trust him because she has run out of options, she graciously puts her mind at rest.

Thank you, Diana, for giving us a unique opportunity to grow in our own faith journeys.
