Meet MSI Press Author Kelly James
In June, Kelly James published her first book with MSI Press, The Book That (Almost) Got Me Fired, and immediately it shot up to #3 on the Amazon's hot new releases list for business humor, where it stayed for most of the past month.
Kelly K. James (formerly Kelly James-Enger) “escaped from the law” more than 25 years ago. Since then, the former attorney has been writing for a living — first as a full-time freelance journalist and novelist, segueing into full-time ghostwriting and content writing a few years later. Since then, she’s written for more than 60 national publications, including Huffington Post, Fitness, Next Avenue, Woman’s Day, Chicago Health, Runner’s World, and many others.
As a ghostwriter, she has penned more than 30 books for clients; she is also the author of popular writing-related books including:
- Writer for Hire: 101 Secrets to Freelance Success,
- Six-Figure Freelancing: The Writer’s Guide to Making More Money, Second Edition
- Goodbye Byline Hello Big Bucks: Make Money Ghostwriting Books, Articles, Blogs, and More, Second Edition.
In January, 2018, she left her ghostwriting career to go “in-house” as a content writer for a small digital marketing company. That transition inspired her first memoir, The Book That (Almost) Got Me Fired: How I (Barely) Survived a Year in Corporate America. Kelly is now the content writer at a mediation and arbitration firm based in Atlanta and continues to freelance on the side, covering health, wellness, fitness, career, psychology, and relationship topics.
