Celebrate Be Kind to Animals Week with MSI Press: Join Us in Making a Difference for Animals Everywhere
Murjan doing what he did best: Communicating with his staff
Be Kind to Animals Week is here—a time to reflect on the many ways we can show compassion to the animals who share our world. At MSI Press, we believe every week should be kind to animals, but this one gives us all a little extra motivation to step up. Here are a few ways you can join us in spreading kindness:
1. Support Animal Advocates Around the Globe
Follow your heart when it comes to supporting rescues, shelters, and advocates—but consider lending a hand to animals in places facing exceptional hardship. Rescuers in Gaza, Syria, and Ukraine are doing heroic work in devastating conditions. We’ve highlighted some of these dedicated people in past posts. If you’re able, please join us in donating directly to help their lifesaving efforts.
2. Stay Alert for Local and Urgent Animal Needs
Animals in high-kill shelters often face deadlines that only funding or foster placement can change. These calls for help are posted constantly on social media—Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter)—and even community bulletin boards. A quick share or a small donation can mean the difference between life and death. Keep your eyes open, and your heart ready.
3. Learn and Love with Our Cat-Focused Content
Our weekly Caturday posts offer insights into feline behavior, tips on multi-cat households, and excerpts from Luna Norwood’s forthcoming books on cat parenting. Whether you’re a lifelong cat lover or just curious, these posts help deepen understanding and strengthen the bond between humans and their whiskered companions.
4. Hit the Road (Through the Pages) with Elly the Dog
Need some joy this week? Let Elly, a spirited little dog with a big sense of adventure, take you on a journey across Canada in the award-winning book Travels with Elly by Larry MacDonald. Elly’s tales are heartwarming, humorous, and occasionally profound—a wonderful reminder of the deep bond between humans and dogs. (Bonus: this book has made it into the Amazon Top 100!)
5. Share Your Own Story of Animal Kindness
Heroism doesn’t have to be global—sometimes, it's as simple as rescuing a stray in your neighborhood or helping a neighbor care for an elderly pet. We invite you to share your own furry tale with us and others. You never know whom you’ll inspire.
Being kind to animals isn’t a one-time act—it’s a way of life. And it is not limited to cats and dogs, keep all God's creatures in mind when lending a helping hand.
Thank you for joining MSI Press in making the world a gentler place for every creature, great and small.
