I’ve watched caregivers crack jokes in waiting rooms, friends trade one‑liners during heartbreak, and elders tell stories so funny you forget they’re actually teaching you how to survive. Humor doesn’t trivialize pain; it gives us a way to carry it without collapsing under the weight.

When we laugh, even briefly, the world becomes a little less sharp around the edges. Problems shrink to a size we can manage. And we remember that joy isn’t gone; it’s just hiding behind the next grin.

  Authors frequently confuse LIST and NET and, in this way, end up with contracts that pay lower royalties when they believe that they are getting a good deal. Payment on list means a percentage of the retail price of the book.
